Portfolio Introduction
“Ledger art” refers to drawing or painting on paper, usually on pages from ledgers like those used to record banking transactions. It was practiced by Plains Indians in the United States from the 1860s to the 1920s. A revival of ledger art began in the 1960s and 1970s. The buffalo is an example. Historically it was a way for Indians who lacked a written language to represent their world pictorially.I put “vectored” photos on daily records I keep at my desk. Using vectors helps make my photos be more pictorial, such as my friend - a dancer in Compania Codanza, Holguin, Cuba.
